Crochet shawls, and scarves look lovely with an added shawl pin.
You can make an easy shawl pin, with just a dowel, and a few beads. If you have access to a drill, you can drill a hole, but if not, you could tighten the wire around the dowel to make it good and secure, the attach another section of wire with beads added to it.
